My introduction to Katniss Everdeen and the cast of the tween novel series The Hunger Games was not a good one. Imagine a beautiful holiday weekend out in the country, Andrew and I hosting 5 of our closest friends for a fun filled weekend. What we didn’t know is that we’d lose one of our guests in District 12 and the Capital. My friend was very much into the book Hunger Games and there was no way anyone could compete. I know this may surprise you… but I’m not a big reader. I never have been nor plan to be. I generally try to stick to magazines with lots of pictures of pretty things. I do however try to get a book or two in every year generally when I’m jet setting. After the over whelming recommendations I decided that I’d give The Hunger Games Series a chance. I was shocked over how much I enjoyed it and how even I became a zombie, memorized by the plot. As I’m finishing up the third book Mocking Jay, I am very excited for the movie release. We all (everyone that was at that painful weekend) have tickets to tonight’s midnight showing at Battery Park City. I couldn’t be more excited to see how they’ve taken the pages to screen. Will it be all I expect it to be? I hope so.
Margaritas before the movie will help tonight become a bit more THIN RICH & BOOZIE.
TR&B DAILY THINspiration:
Suzanne Collins: I’m not sure of just how BOOZIE Ms. Collins is but after this series she’s definitely RICH. Obviously this ginger snap needs a stylist and some kind of hair cream, but regardless of her locks, I have to give her a TR&B solute for entertaining me over and over again these past several months. I also enjoyed learning that she adopted a pair of feral kittens from her backyard and raises them in her Connecticut home with her family… aw how sweet. I bet she’s a real NICE LADY.
